Dia de los Muertos 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run 2017

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, October 28, 2017 for the 5th ANNUAL morning 5K Run/Walk! at Hernandez Elementary on 333 Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos for 2017! Add to the FUN and wear your favorite Day of the Dead running costume! FACE PAINTING provided for early arrivals! Take PHOTOS with our mascots, the legendary Catrina & her escort, Juanito!  MUSIC by DJ Jammin Jesse! DOOR PRIZES! MULTIPLE chances to win UNIQUE trophy prizes! Sponsor a MEMORY BOARD for display at the race in honor of a loved one who has passed, or place their name on the NEW memory altar. This will be an official USTAF sanctioned event.

5K proceeds are allocated to the Johnnie T. Rosales Memorial Scholarship and also benefit the Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos (www.sanmarcoscentro.org, a local cultural center and museum.providing tutoring for local San Marcos area students, music/art/dance lessons and selected as "Best Multicultural Center" in the Austin "Best" category by the Austin Chronical newspaper in 2015
